WHAT SHAPES OUR DIGITAL IDENTITY?
ART+TECHNOLOGY Season 4 Ep 6
with Claudia Hart & Nora Khan
Bloomberg X Hyundai
Premiered on 23 August 2021

How does the interplay between physical and digital worlds affect the way we construct our identity? Writer Nora Khan asks this very question as she hosts NYC-based Mixed Reality pioneer Claudia Hart and Greek artist Theo Triantafyllidis who grapple with simulation, reality and the interplay between physical and digital selves; interactivity, performativity and embodiment. Claudia Hart emerged as part of a generation of 90s intermedia artists, merging art and simulation technologies to create Mixed Reality artworks and media ballets; immersive computer-generated environments that merge physical and virtual environments. Theo Triantafyllidis meanwhile creates absurdist live simulation experiences, media plays and gaming-inspired 3D printed works inspired by the identity scrambling machine that is the internet.
